Ash Vs Evil Dead is starting to feel more real.

Deadline had reported that two actors have officially been cast for Star’z 10-episode series Ash Vs Evil Dead, which will be an official follow up to Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise.

Ray Santiago (Touch) and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) have been cast as co-stars along with Bruce Campbell. We’ve also gotten our first plot details:

“Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal.”

Santiago will play Pablo Simon Bolivar, an immigrant who will become Ash’s loyal sidekick. While DeLorenzo will play Kelly Maxwell, a wild child trying to outrun her past who somehow gets dragged into the war against the Deadites.

There’s a big question that still remains, will Ash Vs. Evil Dead be more serious like the original The Evil Dead? Or more slapstick like Army of Darkness. Honestly, the synopsis is vague enough to fall either way and we’re not sure which we’d ideally prefer. Both of those movies are fantastic.

As long as we don’t get something along the lines of Spider-man 3, we’re probably going to be in for a fantastic ride. Come get some.
