Nothing can stop Chucky.

While we never ended up getting a big budger reboot of the Child’s Play franchise – original creator Don Mancini did end up rewarding us with an entirely new entry into the franchise with the sixth sequel: Curse of Chucky.

Curse of Chucky returned to a much more serious tone, bringing back the horror that fans might have been yearning for after two extremely goofy (but fun) movies in the form of Bride and Seed of Chucky. Curse of Chucky ended up leaving us on an open note – leaving room for another sequel. Don Mancini himself has been very open about wanting to continue the Chucky franchise but has never given and solid news about when or if it would actually ever happen… until now.

Curse of Chucky

Mancini broke the news on Twitter this morning that he is still hard at work on the seventh Child’s Play film. If you really think about it – it’s probably one of the last remaining classic franchises to keep chugging along without any sort of reboot or remake getting thrown in. It’s especially wonderful to know that the original creator is still 100% involved – and a big part of the reason why we can’t wait to find out more about this new seventh Child’s Play.

Until then, we’ll just be holding a big Child’s Play marathon in our offices.
