Children are for life.

John McNaughton’s The Harvest, coming to select theaters and VOD on April 10, just released a trailer.

McNaughton is most famous for directing 1986’s Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. The Harvest took about a year to get distribution after premiering at the Fantasia Film Festival in 2014, even though it got good reviews.

The Harvest stars Michael Shannon, Natasha Calis, Peter Fonda, and Samantha Morton.

Synopsis:

Maryann (an impressive Natasha Calis) moves in with her grandparents after she’s orphaned. Desperately lonely, the preteen sets out to befriend a neighboring deathly ill, bed-ridden boy (Charlie Tahan), despite the outright disapproval of his mother (Samantha Morton). Maryann’s persistence pays off, however, and during a series of secret visits she gradually uncovers some seriously sinister goings-on in the house…

I saw 'Mars Attacks!' in theaters when I was five. I still think it's the greatest horror movie for five year olds ever made.
