A Gremlins reboot has been talked about at Warner Bros for a while now, but the project just got momentum as Deadline is reporting that Carl Ellsworth will be penning the script. Ellsworth is known for writing Goosebumps, Disturbia, and Red Eye.

Gremlins creator Chris Columbus was rumored to be directing, but studio execs say that isn’t likely.

Considering the age we live in, it should shock no one that this is happening. Let’s hope we at least don’t get CGI Gremlins and Ellsworth does a good job with it. I could get behind a project like that.

I saw 'Mars Attacks!' in theaters when I was five. I still think it's the greatest horror movie for five year olds ever made.
