It’s gonna be May.

Ah, a new month. There’s so much to look forward to: warmer weather and new movies debuting on Netflix that will ruin any chance of experiencing said weather being the most important of those things, in my humble opinion. Unfortunately, May is not as good a month for horror fans as April was, but then again, that’s a really high bar. April was freakishly good.

But I digress. It’s easy to miss new films that hit the site, so we’re here to let you know about them. Check it out:

Zombeavers

Everything you need to know about this movie is contained in this one-line synopsis: “College friends find their weekend of sex and debauchery ruined when deadly zombie beavers swarm their riverside cabin.” If you don’t already want to see it, no amount of explaining will help. Available May 19.

Jinn

This is a movie that takes itself seriously and ends up just being silly. But in a good, entertaining way. In its mythology, the Jinn were created at the same time as humans and angels, but they got jealous of humans for being favored by God, so they like to murder us a lot. Bloody Disgusting’s review of it called it a “big budget episode of Supernatural or a fan film made by a rich kid”, and also recommended drinking gin with it. That seems about right. Available May 9.

Extraterrestrial

“Malevolent aliens interrupt five collegians’ vacation at a remote woodland cabin.” While critics complained that it relied too heavily on clichés, they also universally agreed that the visuals were impressive. So if you can forgive a mediocre plot for a visually interesting alien movie, this one is right up your alley. Available May 12.

I saw 'Mars Attacks!' in theaters when I was five. I still think it's the greatest horror movie for five year olds ever made.
