That gum you like is going to come back in style.

Two major announcements to report that will have Twin Peaks fans dreaming pleasant dreams. According to Welcome to Twin Peaks, Angelo Badalamenti, the original composer of the legendary soundtrack, will be returning to compose the score for the third season – and that season will be twice the originally announced length, totaling 18 episodes. So that’s basically an unofficial fourth season!

On top of that, David Lynch will be directing all 18 episodes, despite almost leaving the whole enterprise over an apparent dispute about the budget.

To celebrate, here’s a (highly amusing) video of Angelo Badalamenti describing how he and David Lynch composed the Twin Peaks theme. And maybe treat yourself to some pie, as well.

I saw 'Mars Attacks!' in theaters when I was five. I still think it's the greatest horror movie for five year olds ever made.
