Gabriel Bateman stalks New Line horror project…

Just when you thought James Wan was folding into the La z boy with a drink in hand waiting for the U.S. release of his Demonic, he catches us off guard…again. In actuality, his latest production Lights out has already begun casting!

Gabriel Bateman (Stalker) will star in New Line’s horror project Lights Out with James Wan producing and David F. Sandberg directing.

The story centers on a supernatural entity attacking a family, with one of the members required to step up to protect them from a threat that can be seen only when the lights go out.

The original concept was created by Sandberg in the 2013 short film by the same name. The film won the “Flight Meter Award” in 2014 as well as mass fan acclaim as one of the freakiest shorts in a while. I can almost guarantee you won’t forget the ending (you’ll see what I mean in a second).

Lights Out will also be produced by Lawrence Grey and Eric A. Heisserer , with Heiserer (The Thing, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Final Destination, and 5 Hours) penning the script.
