Universal brings sci-fi talent to its ‘Black Lagoon’ remake. The Creature From The Black Lagoon is a sci-fi classic currently in development for a remake, and Tracking Board has dicovered that Universal has brought on Jeff Pinkner to rewrite their script. Pinkner, who was a showrunner for the series Fringe, wrote The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and is in the process of adapting Stephen King’s The Dark Tower books. The remake, based on the studio’s B-movie property originally created by Jack Arnold in 1954, centers on a group of scientists who embark upon a fossil-hunting expedition up the Amazon river. Things get messy when they encounter a pre-historic creature who is half-human and half-fish–but lo and behold, the monster happens to fall in love with one of the female scientists. Universal is currently eyeing Scarlett Johansson to star in the film. Comments comments
