A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful…and a good shot.

Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 4.08.01 PMI had a friend in middle school who was a dedicated Boy Scout.  He told me that the organization was preparing him for any – literally any–  situation.  That sounded like BS to me back then, and it still does today.  The Boy Scouts couldn’t possibly prepare one for any and all catastrophes; there are far too many possibilities for disaster and mayhem.  But that’s the concept of the upcoming horror-comedy film Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse.  The plot, it seems, is exactly what the title suggests:

Three scouts, on the eve of their last camp-out, discover the true meaning of friendship when they attempt to save their town from a zombie outbreak.

The official trailer is out and the release date has been set for October 30th of this year.  Judging from the trailer, it looks like Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse will be a hybrid of Superbad, Zombieland, and Night of the Living Dead, complete with dorky teenage boys with unlimited access to heavy artillery, and a Hot Blonde Girl who will probably be more level-headed and competent than the three boys combined.
