Much excitement as we’re hot on the heels of the October 7th premiere date.

After Entertainment Weekly blessed us with new photos and descriptions for the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel, they’ve been leaking out more tidbits for die-hard fans drip by drip, and we cannot wait. In the latest scoop on the FX series, we learn that we haven’t seen the last of Jessica Lange in the series (score!) as show creator Ryan Murphy exclusively confirmed to EW that she’ll be baaaack.

Lange, who received two Emmys and a Golden Globe for her AHS role, announced her departure back in March, but rumors quickly swirled that her departure may not actually be permanent (way to keep us guessing, guys!) and now we have confirmation that she’ll be back.

Murphy says:

I’ve been talking to her. It’s always possible. I’m trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She’ll be back — she’s not gone forever. But that’s the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back, we just have to come up with something.

Lange is obviously a fan favorite, so we’re thrilled to see her back in any capacity.

Other exciting tidbits that Murphy shared with EW is the possibility of AHS having two (!!) seasons in 2016. He said:

Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring. We have to decide.

We’re doing something that we’ve never done before on the show where we’re doing two different groups of writers rooms. Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we’re crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark.

Having two seasons in the same year could prove to be hugely successful for the storylines of the show — having to pack more of a punch in a shorter amount of time could prove deliciously exciting. But it’d have to be handled in the right way to be a triumph. More info is surely to come towards the end of the year and depending on how well AHS: Hotel fares.

Finally, after yesterday’s official cast photos were revealed, more images and details about Lady Gaga’s role surfaced, proving that Mother Monster is going to be one badass HBIC (that’s head bitch in charge for the AARP members) in Hotel. Gaga is playing Countess, a vampire hotel owner and mother of 10 vampires. Of her character, Murphy says: “She owns the hotel, and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people,” he dished. “She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode.”

But this is not your Twilight sparkly pretty kind of vampire.  “I prefer the term ‘ancient blood virus,’” he told EW. “It’s not vampires. It’s really a form of hemophilia in a way. There’s no capes and fangs.” Cool!

Gaga also told EW that filming the series will definitely influence her upcoming music. Gaga says she’ll be back to “the art of darkness… It will inform me from this day forward, everyday more and more.” Though she will not be singing on the show at all, Gaga says Hotel is her number one priority right now.

This is my focus right now. I don’t view this as a side thing that I’m doing in between other things. Cramming things in just to be everywhere all the time is really not what I like. It’s not what makes me happy. So it was planned out for me to do one project at a time and give my full attention to each so I can enjoy myself. I can give myself fully to the cast. If I were to saunter in here and not show true value to the work that’s already been done, that would be a massive mistake because these actors have been working for years. They’re extremely talented.I walked in on my first day and I was like, ‘I am going to give all of myself.’

And for all the praise Murphy has given the Lady, she gives it right back to him.

“Pop culture puts us in our own lanes doesn’t it? They say, ‘Oh these are the music people and these are the television people and these are the movie people.’ I believe that Ryan also has an ability to affect pop culture as a whole. But then he’s going to affect the music world now because he’s believing in me as an actress.

Check out some more photos of Lady Gaga ahead of the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel.
