He’s Back!

For a long time Bill Murray has stated that he wouldn’t do another Ghostbusters film, so when it was announced that he would in fact be returning in the new reboot of the franchise, many were left wondering what changed the comedy genius’s mind. In a recent interview Murray explained that what convinced him to reconsider doing another film was the addition of actresses like Wiig and McCarthy to the film, who he called “a great hope”.

“I like those girls a lot,” he said. “I mean, I really do. They are tough to say no to. And Paul is a real nice fellow.

“You know, they were incredibly nice to ask me, and I really enjoyed being there,” Murray continued. “They have such a jolly group, and they are going to have great success with this project. I didn’t want to overshadow [them] or anything, and I feel really good about it.”

Murray however will not be playing Dr. Peter Venkman in the new film. It has been rumored that he will appear as a character out to debunk the Ghostbusters crew, played by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Dan Aykroyd will also have a cameo in the film.

Ghostbusters will haunt theaters on July 22nd, 2016.
