Is this that gonorrhea super-strain we read about?

Screen Shot 2015-09-16 at 12.20.38 PMIn the grand tradition of scaring kids chaste, filmmaker Jonathon Straiton has recently directed a new horror movie about a deadly sexually transmitted infection.  The film, now in post-production, is titled Night of Something Strange and stars Nicola Fiore (Slaughter Daughter, Unholy Reunion), Kera O’Bryon (A Haunting, Almost Human), Wayne W. Johnson (The Vampire, Half Dead), and Michael Merchant (Sawtooth Massacre, Amityville Death House).

The synopsis of Night of Something Strange is:

Teenage friends out for beach week get unexpectedly detoured to a creepy motel where a deadly STD virus now runs rampant, turning those infected into the living dead.

From the trailer, you can see that the first person to contract the disease, the Patient 0, does so from a dirty toilet.  I should stress, at this point, that one cannot easily catch an STD/ STI from a toilet; the likelihood of that is slim to none.  Nevertheless, the premise of the movie is a super-STD.  Kind of sounds like It Follows doesn’t it? Only more violent and visceral.

Screen Shot 2015-09-16 at 12.37.38 PMThe poster (pictured above) features a zombie girl with what appears to be a tentacle emerging from her genitals.  I can only assume that this is an integral plot point containing commentary about attitudes toward female sexuality in combination with a parody of Japanese tentacle porn.  Why else would an artist put that on a film poster?

Screen Shot 2015-09-16 at 12.35.07 PMOther information, like the source of Straiton’s inspiration for this piece of cinema, or a release date, hasn’t been released to the public yet.  In the meantime, kick back, relax, and enjoy the official trailer for Night of Something Strange.
