Exciting and unsurprising news. Attention ghost witnesses, lunatics, witches, freaks, and vamps: our favorite anthology series American Horror Story will return for another exciting installment next year. That’s right; the FX network has officially ordered a sixth season of Ryan Murphy’s obscenely popular series. Everyone involved is quite excited. The CEO of FX, John Landgraf, made the following statement during the announcement of the renewal: “With the sixth installment coming next year, American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television’s landmark series. From Murder House to Hotel, AHS has pioneered a new television form, as well as becoming FX’s highest-rated show, while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity. This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining. You could not ask more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver.” Murphy has not yet disclosed any information or details about the sixth season. He has only revealed that Lady Gaga may or may not return as a cast member, if the filming does not interfere with her music and touring schedule.
