Last year, we posted an update on the upcoming James Wan-produced feature film Lights Out, based upon the award-winning short film of the same name by David F. Sandberg.  At the time, we had only the names of two key cast members.  Now, we have the full cast list, a release date, and not one, but two official trailers.

Here a synopsis:

When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger…once the lights go out.

Lights Out stars Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, Maria Bello, Alexander DiPersia, Lotta Losten, and Ava Cantrell.  The film was directed by Sandberg and written by Eric Heisserer.

Both of the trailers are incredibly well done.  Trailer One pays homage to the original short film, and Trailer Two gives a little more detail about the characters and their relationships with one another.  Lights Out is set for a July 22nd release.  Check out the trailers below!
