Space, witches, and a boat load of death.

A new month is upon us and that means one very important thing to users of Netflix – new movies debut for streaming. But let’s be honest, Netflix isn’t great about letting you know what’s actually new on the site and app. This is even truer for the new horror movies that hit the site. Unless it’s a big hit, you might miss some horror films that sneak through.

We want to help you out. So we’ve highlighted the new horror films that made the cut. Check it out:

The ABCs of Death 2 (March 5th)

Anthology horror is all the rage these days and there is no better example than The ABCs of Death franchise. The idea is 26 short films, each one based on a letter of the alphabet. Sure, 26 films is a lot to cram into one movie and it often feels a little too fractured – but this the perfect kind of movie to watch on Netflix. It’s like Adult Swim’s programming – if something is bad, you know that you only have to wait a few minutes before something new starts up. Sometimes funny, sometimes shocking, and other times just plain weird; this sequel celebrates all things horror. Both the good and the bad.

Event Horizon (March 1st)

A big cult favorite among the horror crowd but often maligned by critics and just about everyone else – this space horror actually holds up pretty well over time. We love it so much we even recently wrote up an entire article defending just how good it is. If you want to see some truly creepy visuals of blood, torture, and demons in space – then you can’t do any better than Event Horizon.

Honorable Mention: Teen Witch (March 1st)

Okay, so this isn’t really horror per say – but it has witches in it and it’s from the 80’s so we couldn’t help but fit in this cheese-fest on our list! The new horror on Netflix this month was a little light so Teen Witch… why the hell not!

That about does it for horror this month on Netflix. Here’s a list of the rest of the streaming releases too. In case you were wondering.
