This long-awaited Gothic trailer is sure to haunt your hump day!

As promised in yesterday’s article, we’ve got the new trailer to Guillermo del Toro’s long awaited horror project Crimson Peak, and it looks terrifyingly awesome! Here’s a quick synopsis to refresh your memory:

When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak”

If you ask me, a good trailer has to flesh out the plot in an intriguing yet brief manner but more importantly give me the feel and pace of the film. The kind of feeling that makes you clench your fists and scream in your head (or out loud), “YESS!!!” Well all systems are go in this trailer – it surely does not disappoint.

The first thing that stuck me was it’s Gothic English feel, a rich well established tone that is led by its cinematography and that leaves things lurking in the shadows of a grandiose manner. If you don’t know what I’m talking about think “Sherlock Holmes, Sweeney Todd, The Headless Horseman (well a lot of Johnny Depp movies now that I think about it). Maybe I’m just a Guillermo del Toro fan boy but to me he can do no wrong.

Anyway, enough of my blabber, check it out below!
