Trust no one.

The Silenced, a Korean horror film set in a boarding school in 1938, is for sale at the Cannes market.  From Lotte Entertainment and director Hae-yeong Lee, the film is described as possibly “the Korean Suspiria“.

That’s probably just marketing hype, but I can’t deny that the period boarding school setting is pretty appealing.

The synopsis:

A sickly girl Ju-ran transfers to a new sanitorium boarding school to regain health. But she discovers that students are disappearing and notices abnormal changes happening to her body. She suspects the school for what’s happening and tries to discover what secret is hidden.
