Exorcism: Chicken Soup For The Possessed Soul

Remember the 2008 flick The Haunting of Molly Hartley?  It was the story of a seventeen year old girl dealing with the usual growing pains: her mother tried to kill her, she has terrible nightmares, and she finds out that she was stillborn, causing her parents to made a deal with the devil to bring her back to life on the condition that when she turns 18, she’ll become a permanent fixture in Satan’s inner circle, namely as his servant.

Now, six years later, the sequel is set to release.  This new installment, directed by Steven R. Monroe (I Spit On Your Grave) and written by Matt Venne (Mirrors 2) will feature a grown-up Molly (played by Sarah Lind) who has been committed to a mental hospital.  Psychotherapy hasn’t been helping much, though, because she’s still possessed by a demonic entity and must undergo a ritual exorcism.

The trailer was released today, and the full length film will be available on Digital HD this year on October 9th, and then on DVD and Blu-Ray October 20th. Just in time for Halloween. Nice.
