Ho! Ho! Oh.. no.

This probably isn’t what most people want to open on Christmas morning.

I’m a sucker for horror movies about holidays OTHER than Halloween. ThanksKilling, Leprechaun, Black Christmas, The Gingerdead Man… I’ll watch them all. Filmmakers have long loved to combine the merriment and cheer of Christmas with murder and vengeance, and the latest offering from directors Steven Hoban (Ginger Snaps, Splice) Grant Harvey (Ginger Snaps Back), and Brett Sullivan (Ginger Snaps, Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed, and Saw IV) does not disappoint. It has William Shatner, a fight between some crazy demon and Santa clad in his red robe, and elves gone haywire.

The synopsis of the movie, which will be released to theaters, VOD and iTunes on October 2nd, is here:

Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, peace and goodwill. But for some folks in the small town of Bailey Downs, it turns into something much less festive.  When Krampus – the anti-Santa who punishes the naughty children – is summoned by a young boy, everyone’s fight for survival begins.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… if you can survive it.
