For us horror fans, October is basically like Christmas but all month long.

October is finally almost here, and with that brings an excuse to watch horror movies all month long (I mean, we do that anyway, but at least there’s a legitimate reason now.) On the 1st of the month, the Syfy Channel kicks off its annual “31 Days Of Horror” programming block, giving us our classic favorites and new original movies to feast on.

On Syfy, we can look forward to new episodes of the reality series Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Witness, as well as four all-new horror films on Saturday nights. (Though, it should be noted, they are not airing an original movie on THE Saturday night in October that counts — yes, Halloween — though maybe that’s for the better given that many of the Syfy originals are garbage. Please give us a good classic that night!)

We have a trailer for The Hollow, which will air on Saturday, October 24th at 9pm. Here’s more info about the movie:

It’s Halloween eve on Shelter Island, and the small town is preparing for a killer storm. But the dark clouds gathering over the island are bringing with them a curse one-hundred years in waiting. As the woods give birth to an ungodly and insatiable creature of fire, bones, and earth, three sisters must scramble to stay alive through the long dark night of the Hollow. For it’s not something you can kill. It’s only something you can try and survive.

And the trailer is here:

Syfy will also air some of our favorites, including: Blade II; Underworld; The Fog; Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning; The Cabin In The Woods; The Omen; The Last Exorcism; Fright Night; Hostel; and Silent Hill: Revelation, among others.

Happy horror watching!
