Are you ready for the summer?

Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 11.54.35 AMNeither am I, but I am excited for this movie to hit theaters.  Alberto Marini’s directorial debut, Summer Camp, now has an official trailer and synopsis.  The film, co-written by Marini and Danielle Schleif, stars Maiara Walsh, Jocelin Donahue, Diego Boneta, Andrés Velencoso, and Xavier CapdetJaume Balagueró (REC) served as the executive producer.  Here’s the official synopsis:

When Darren, Michelle, Will and Christy signed up to work as camp counselors, they had visions of a fun-filled summer in an exciting foreign country. During their last hours of “freedom” before the camp opens its doors, the young counselors are determined to have a night they’ll never forget –and they won’t be disappointed…

Before the party’s even gotten underway, things get ugly, very ugly… A silent infection spreads, a friend snaps without prior notice. A savage game of cat and mouse ensues, it’s unclear who is afflicted and who is not, and the pursuer can become the pursued in the blink of an eye.
Welcome to Summer Camp.

Summer Camp just screened at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain.  No word yet on a release date for the United States, but the trailer promises screaming young adults, sketchy camp grounds, and some grisly special effects.  Hopefully the US will be able to experience Summer Camp sometime in the near future.
